Saffron!!

Hello everyone!! There’s a lot to talk about this week, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
9-21-15
A pretty solid P-day, we went on a little hike to the top of Creigs lookout and got a super sick view of Greenock, Gourock, Port Glasgow, and the Clyde!

9-22-15
Started the morning of with a really great District Meeting, both the Zone Leaders and the Sister Training Leaders came! It was all about having fun while finding.... Something I definitely need to work on. After DM the Paisley and Pollock Elders stuck around for a Blitz in Greenock! It was great fun to spend some real time with the district, we only see other missionary once a week! I got to go out with Elder Tullis, he's a boss! All three teams went out for two and a half hours, and not a single potential was found.... pretty messed up, but its quality over quantity right!? Finished the night by helping out with the primary program! I got to play parachute games with little kids!!

9-23-15
We found two and a half Potentials and chopped down a lady's bush!

9-24-15
We did weekly planning, and spent a lot of time finding today. Nothing too exciting but it was kind of a nice change. We had Saffron’s baptismal interview though, that was exciting! Of course she passed with flying colors!

9-25-15
I've officially hit my three month mark!!! That means 1/8th of my mission is already over... how weird is that!? Feels like just yesterday I was sending my last snapchat from the Stake Center! My missionary superhero took us out to dinner today; she treated me to some kind of gibbon steak thing. It was pretty much just a massive slab of British Bacon! A dream come true.... We also got to take the ferry over to Dunoon for a coordination meeting!

9-26-15
First I begged for money at the British Heart Foundation (Gathered up 33£ this week!) Then we chapped a nice little community called Fancy Farm! It wasn't that great but the name sure is fun! Last but not least, we had out very last lesson with Saffron before her baptism on Sunday, everything went well, and everything always does with the Higgins!

9-27-15 TODAY'S THE DAY!!!
I'm just going to skip to the best part, Saffron’s Baptism!!! It was nothing short of perfection! I have to say, it was one of the strongest I have felt spirit my whole life! I'll never forget the smile of her face as she came up out of the water, and looked at her dad... Getting to teach Saffron and the Higgins family has been such an amazing blessing to me. I feel Heavenly Father's love for me when I see them. It helps me to remember that I’m always being looked after, and that Heavenly Father knows me best!

Move's Call was today as well... it’s been a roller coaster of emotions! If you don't know already, both Elder Clawson and I will be spending another six weeks here in Greenock! I'm happy with it; I'd probably spend my whole mission in Greenock if that’s what He wanted me to do!

Well that a wrap! Thank you for your prayers, I can feel the difference they make! Today we are going to be teaching a first lesson with a girl in Dunoon, her name is Gemma and I'm feeling really great about it! See ya next week!

Feeling Blessed

It’s been another crazy week!! So much happens in just a week that I've pretty much just accepted that I won’t have time to talk about most of it... So you'll just have to use your imagination!!

9-14 Not my best P-day...
I ended up losing 40 minutes of my email time talking to some dude named Morgan in Salt Lake to get my email account up and going again!

9-15 Exchanges with Elder Tarbet
Pretty normal day for the most part! I had a nice exchange with Elder Tarbet in Greenock. We visited this less active named Linda Miciver who is apparently related to Elder Tarbet! It was like one big family reunion!! And then there was me... We did a lot of finding, and finished the night off with a lesson with Greame!

9-16 District Meeting and Blitz in Pollock
We had a solid district meeting in Pollock, and then Elder Clawson and I just stayed and blitzed the area! So, pretty much just another day of finding... but this time I was finding for someone else! That area needs all the help it can get though! I got to go off with Elder Johnson, I was great fun!

9-17 WE ALMOST GOT JUMPED BY A COUPLE OF JUNKIES!
What a day..... We got up extra early and took a long train ride down to Irvine for Zone Leader Conference (Because elder Clawson’s the district leader) It was good stuff, I was able to put in a lot of feedback!  We came home, did some weekly planning, and then went out for an hour of finding. Up until this point it had been a pretty boring day, when all of a sudden we see these two drunk guys heading our direction... I could tell they were drunk before they even came near, but knowing that drunks are the only ones who ever really talk to us, and feeling desperate for a conversation, we introduced ourselves. I couldn’t understand them very well, but they were talking about a murder that had happened right where we were just a month ago... I don’t really like hanging out where people have been killed, so we started to head back towards that flat. They started to walk with us, I was cool with it, and in fact I enjoy talking to impaired folk! Out of nowhere they just took off! I heard them saying something about being followed, but didn’t really pay any attention to it, (You know... because they're drunk!) But all of a sudden this car rolled up to us, and this man and women flashed police badges!!! They were undercover cops! It was awesome! They told us about the murder that happened where we were, and that they've been watching these guys... they said they were probably going to make us victims, and even went into detail about how they probably would have done it with a knife or syringe! ... Just another day in Greenock :) I know Heavenly Father watches over, and protects us daily. Feeling blessed!

9-18 Three Ferries into the Twilight Zone
I don’t even know where to start... the 18th was something else! First we went down to Wimsbay, on Greenock’s only double deck bus! It was my first time on a Double Decker, so I went straight to the upper level and sat right next to this old lady on the front row! We had a long talk about the Church of Scotland! We arrived at Wimsbay, and made the ferry just in time! It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful ferry! The biggest one I’ve ever seen! We took it straight to the Isle of Bute, and finished helping Anne and Andy move! When we were all packed up we took the van across to a different ferry, and over to Sandbank in Dunoon where we helped unload. After we were all finished up we went to the Cain’s and washed up! Then it was off to a Dinner appointment with a mystery man! Billy was the name! What a great guy! we came in and the first thing he told us was " This is your house " he showed us where the key was, and explained that if we ever needed any food, or just needed to crash somewhere that it was all ours... He makes a killer Mac N' Cheese too! We were late for the ferry back to Greenock, so he called us up a taxi and we were off!! The ferry ride home and super peaceful... I think I saw the stars for the first time on my mission!

9-19 No time to talk about this day, wasn’t too exciting anyway!

9-20 Gavin and bro Andrews Blessed the Sacrament for the first time!
Sunday was great! For our gospel principles class we trained bro Andrews and Gavin got to bless the sacrament! They did great! I was so excited :)

Well that’s it young chaps, I’m out of time! Thanks for all of the prayers!! The days are getting shorter and colder!

2 weeks in 1

Hello Everyone! Sorry I wasn’t able to send out emails last week, I went crazy sending picture to mom, and it just kicked me out!! But that’s not all, when I came in this morning, it still wouldn't let me log into my account! I had to call some guy in Salt Lake, but we finally got it sorted out! Anyways, long story short, I won’t have as much time to email this week because a good chunk of my time was spent trying to get into my email! So I'm sorry to everyone whom I won’t be able to email back this week, and those I couldn’t get to last week. I will get to you next week I promise!

It’s been an epic couple of weeks, and I won't have time to go into much detail, so I’ll just dive right in and give just a couple lines of the main event of each day!

Mon Aug 31st
I had an amazing P-day down in Largs at the Viking Festival! The weather was amazing too :) It felt like a little chunk of Cali with the music and tents, I felt right at home! I also got to make some more drunk friends!! Drunks are fun when they're friendly! Before we left I had a good old chippy with a coke, and watched it rain over the clide, with the sound of Scottish folk music in the background!

Tue Sep 1st
There was a district meeting today, and I had an exchange with my buddy from the MTC Elder Tullis! He's a great guy! We got to go up and chap into the country side of my area, it was super peaceful and we got to watch the sunset over the Highlands!

Wed Sep 2nd
Elder Tullis and I went across the Ferry to Dunoon to help paint a house in Sandbank! It was a very beautiful bus ride, and Elder Tullis and I had a great conversation, and some good laughs about how we were going to hop into some kilts and explore the highlands someday! Bro Cain also took us into the pub for a chippy! The bartender is a less active, I’m thinking we'll get to visit him outside of the pub one of these days!

Thurs Sep 3rd
WE ALMOST GOT STRANDED ON A FLIPPIN ISLAND!!!!!!!!!!
I really wish I had more time to tell about this story, but I’ll try to sum it up as fast as I can! It was almost as crazy as that one time we had to sleep over at Greames house because our carbon monoxide detector was going off!  So we were having dinner on the Isle of Cumbre with a member, we got dropped off back at the ferry, and when it was time to go, and right after our ride left, Elder Clawson realized he didn’t have the phone! Missionaries need their phone to survive! There’s no other way!! So we started running into the island trying to find someone that would have a phone we could use! We searched and searched but there wasn’t anyone around, after all… it is an island! We had gotten pretty far away from the ferry terminal when I realized the last ferry of the night was leaving in 19 minutes! So we forgot about the phone and sprinted out for the ferry! We barely made it in time! I can’t even imagine what we would have done if we missed that thing... I owe it all to my Cross Country Coach, Coach Geible!

Fri Sep 4th
There was a ton of travel on buses and trains today. I went on exchanges with a brand new greeny! Someone newer than myself!!! Elder Roylance J

Sat Sep 5th
Did some Service at the British Heart Foundation. Sang happy birthday to Kizzy H, and had a long walk with Greame!

Sun Sep 6th
Sunday was pretty disappointing.... ALL of our plans fell through, including our baptism we had planned L

THIS WEEK

Mon Sep 7th
It was a Bank Holiday in Greenock, and we couldn’t email! Pure rubbish!

Tue Sep 8th
Went to District Meeting, and I went to Irvine on Exchange with my Zone Leader Elder Mullvill!  It’s a beautiful drive through the countryside to Irvine! Irvine has a super posh flat, and an extra fancy shower!

Wed Sep 9th
We got to teach a gay man the restoration on the beach of the Clide! J

Thurs Sep 10th
Weekly Planning/My Hero Anne Harrison took us out to lunch. I love Anne. She’s the best!

Fri Sep 11th
Friday was insane!! We went down to the Kyle's of Buet to help some less actives move over to Dunoon! Two ferries and a lovely drive to the beautiful Island! Moving was rough, they had a ton of rubbish they needed moved but we gotter done! Well, almost.... we are going back to finish the job this Friday!

Sat Sep 12th
We found out that one of our investigators is related to the recent convert we happened to take with us for the lesson! There are no coincidences when doing the Lord’s work.

Sun Sep 13th
We had branch conference, and after moving mountains to make it happen our investigator Angela came!!! Happy Day! J

Mon Sep 14th
And that brings us to now!!! That’s it, I’m out of time! Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers! :)
